Never Lose Hope

Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the
Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint
you!—Psalm 27:14 TPT

Last week when I left for work, I was surprised to discover a thick fog had enveloped the DC

Metropolitan area. Visibility was difficult and even with headlights on, I found it challenging to see the

road in front of me. With a lack of perspective, the drive to work seemed to take forever. I had to

intentionally navigate my way to the office since it was so hard to see the traffic signal overhead and to

safely make left turns. Once I had settled into my workday routine, I looked out my office window and

noticed the fog had suddenly lifted and visibility had returned to normal.

Most of us at one time or another have experienced a fog of uncertainty as we travel along life’s

journey. It is easy at times like this to want to give up or lose heart when hopelessness and despair

wants to settle in. Maybe you were furloughed and can’t seemed to get a new job, or you have a job

but are miserable from the lack of appreciation from coworkers. So many individuals are challenged by

the circumstances they now face due to the current circumstances surrounding the pandemic.

When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. But when at last your dream
comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.—Proverbs 13:12 TPT

Don’t lose hope my friend. We are all tempted to give up and throw in the towel. Statistics show that

divorce rates will go drastically lower when the couple is committed to work steadily through their

marital issues. Employees eventually see the tables turn in the work environment when they steadfastly

press on with a hopeful attitude. Entrepreneurs reap the reward of growth when they work hard

through challenges and steadily overcome them.

And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we
don’t get discouraged and give up.—Galatians 6:9 TLB

In the darkness of despair and hopelessness we sometimes are faced with in life, we can put our hope in

God who promises to never disappoint or let us down. He is directing our steps and leading us in the

way we should go. He has plans to give us a future and a hope. (See Jeremiah 29:11) In due course, the

fog of uncertainty will lift. So, no matter what challenges come your way, hold onto hope and ask God to

make you a vessel of His hope for others.

I wait [hope] for the Lord to help me [my soul hopes], and I trust [hope in] his word.—Psalm 130:5 EXB
