Making spiritual life goals to pursue in 2018
I enjoyed looking back on 2017 this past week and enjoying the many memories I experienced. It helps to prepare me mentally and spiritually to look at 2018 with fresh perspective. If you are like me, the new year provides an opportunity to evaluate our lives and rework our spiritual life goals for the future.
Philippians 3:13 says it is way “I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,” NLT
With eager anticipation I look to this new year with fresh hope and renewed diligence to pursue God’s very best for my life. Here are some of my spiritual life goals for 2018, maybe this list will help inspire you to seek out your spiritual life goals as well for this year.
Establish a special time of prayer and fasting. This spiritual discipline has many benefits to include experiencing fresh revelation for growth and development. It also brings restoration, healing and new life. (Isaiah 58:8)
Choose to make wise choices. One small decision today could have a big impact on our tomorrow. (Proverbs 2:11)
Seek God’s plan and pursue what I believe God wants me to do this year. (Matthew 6:33)
Let God’s Word transform the way I think. (Romans 12:2)
Allow God’s passion and priority of purpose to become my focus. (Philippians 2:12-13)
Write down my thoughts about what I believe God wants for my future. (Proverbs 19:21)
Guard my words. Let them bring life, encouragement and healing. (Proverbs 15:4 & 18:21, Ephesians 4:29,
Start doing what I believe God wants me to do and heading toward where God wants me to go. (James 1:22)
