Living the Life God Designed

Becoming a Woman of Influence

It wasn’t until I graduated from high school that I began to fully grasp the importance of living the life God designed.

God was an important part of my life but I didn’t know how to allow Him to instruct me and guide me along the BEST pathway for my life. (See Psalm 32:8).

I had moved from Southern California to West Texas the middle of my senior year in high school and believe me, I was in shock. I had my life planned out to live in Southern California, to go to college and stay there the rest of my life. Moving totally turned my life upside down. Living in the desert with no friends, nothing familiar, no church support was like having the rug pulled out from under me.

I thought my life had come to an end and yet I soon found out God was using all of this for His good and to fulfill His purpose.

(See Romans 8:28)

I suddenly had lots of time on my hands. In the quiet dessert landscape, I began to clearly hear His still small voice inside me and the Word of God took on a whole new meaning such as this scripture from Jeremiah 29:11, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” MSG

It was under the starry sky away from the city lights and busy activity, I began to realize that I was put on earth for a purpose and He had plans for my life.

I realized God designed me to make a difference and He wants me to step out in faith to walk out to fulfill that purpose.

I love how Proverbs 20:24 says “Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?”

NLT

Who would have thought that in the desert of El Paso, Texas, I would begin to understand the life God designed for me? I found myself having ears to hear His voice, eyes to see and perceive. I learned

how to fast and began cultivating an intercessor’s heart.

My time with God was amazing and it was in El Paso, He first began to reveal the next steps for my life. Ephesians 2:10 became my "guide For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in

Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." TLB

He showed me the "good things"; were service to others. I then learned that whenever I serve others, I was actually serving God and fulfilling one of my purposes. I discovered I was a woman of influence, placed on this planet for a special assignment.

It was then He gave me the dream of Cindy Dennis Ministries and He began to prepare me for that purpose by developing several ministries for women, youth and children. I realized the importance of getting involved in my community. I got closer to my family, met my husband and then married him there in El Paso before I embarked on a life that has taken me all around the world. I began to realize that we are all are in positions to influence, whether we feel ready or not!

Let me ask you a question: What would happen if you decided to influence lives on purpose?

JOIN me for our special Monday Confident Woman Workshop focus on “Becoming a Woman of Influence: Making a Lasting Impact on Others.”

We meet in the South County Government Building in

Alexandria, Virginia or join on Cindy Dennis Ministries Facebook Live at 7 pm.

One of the reasons I'm doing this series is to challenge women to become MORE intentional about how we influence others, not because we have to, but because we want to.

Let's LIVE the life God designed!

Blessings,

Cindy
