Happy resurrection day!
Happy Resurrection Sunday! I love how the spring season has the potential of bringing beautiful blossoms to the landscape. The first couple days of spring this year were cold, wet and windy. It seemed difficult to believe spring has arrived when it felt so much like winter outdoors. Unexpectedly on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, we had some beautiful warm temperatures. I loved seeing how quickly the trees began to bloom and it was amazing how suddenly my daffodil bulbs finally came into full bloom. What a wonder it was to me how just the right amount of sunlight and warm temperatures in the day had the power to cause the daffodil bulbs I planted in the fall, to bring the fragrant bright yellow blossom to our small front yard. This time of year, also reminded me of something just as amazing and even more powerful and that was the promise we find in Romans 8:11 that tells us, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” NLT The very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living inside us when we make Jesus the Lord of our lives. Think about that! Resurrection life is on the inside of us. We need to learn how to tap into that power to run with endurance the race God has set before us. (See Hebrews 12:1) The power we received in union with Christ enables us to accomplish His plans and to overcome the challenges along the way. Philippians 4:13 promises, “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” AMP In each season of our lives, we have an opportunity to plant God’s Word in our heart and activate the power of that Word in our lives. Psalms 1:2-3 reminds us to “…delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow Him more closely. They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.” TLB We have the power to live this life to the fullness…to overcome…to walk in victory…to see God’s Word “spring” forth blooms of blessings where we are planted. Let’s decide this spring to tap into that resurrection power living inside us. Let’s spend time reading and thinking about ways to follow Him more closely. Just as trees and bulbs soak up rainwater and burst into blossoms, let’s soak ourselves in God’s Word, producing actions and attitudes that honor God. Happy Resurrection Sunday! Cindy.
