God Will Never Leave You or Forsake You
Yesterday was such a beautiful spring like day. I had my granddaughter Lena over for the weekend and we decided to head outside the house and go to the park to play. You have to know Lena, she is three years old, loves to dress up even to play outside. When we got to the park it was packed full of other children and family members who had the same idea as we did to get out of the house.
Lena was excited to be at the park, but for the longest time she was transfixed to the side watching all the other children. As we watched several children her age going down the toddler slide, she was restless though still not willing to do it herself. Finally, I put Lena on my lap and together we went down the toddler slide. The whole time she kept saying "I am afraid, I can't do this." We quickly reached the bottom and she popped right up and said “Let's go down the slide again. That was fun. This time I want to go all by myself. I can do this.” After that, the park was full of possibilities. I literally had to say it was time, and she did not want to go willingly.
How many times have we allowed fear, worry, and doubt to prevent us from embracing the plans He has for us. God wants us to TRUST HIM and not rely on our own understanding.
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.” Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG
God has put tremendous ability, creative power, and potential in each of us. He will lead us down paths where He will not only guide us but equip us along the way, but if we look to the future with fear, our potential and creative power are stifled.
“Happy are those who are strong in the Lord, who want above all else to follow your steps.” Psalm 84:5 TLB
There will always be those who believe they can, and those who believe they can't. We must decide which one we are going to be.
God promises to never leave us or forsake us or relax His hand upon us. He is there to ensure we are set up for success and to prosper along the way.
What are you going to do with yourself this year? Will you just stand on the sidelines and watch everyone else walk out their God-given destiny or will you decide right now that you won't let fear and doubt keep you from trusting God and no longer allow emotions to dictate your decisions.
Get a vision of what God has for you and then begin the journey, one step at a time.
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will.” Psalm 37:5 TLB
