As soon as you read the title, you might’ve assumed I was talking about people with muscles, on the stage and immediately in your head and you have replied “no!”

I’m talking about a different kind of bodybuilding. First Corinthians 12 lets us know that we are all members of the body of Christ.

We all have a different but important role to play in His Kingdom. No two people have exactly the same gifts and talents, but they are uniquely designed to fill a part of God’s Grand Plan.

So let me ask you, do you use your gifts and talents to build up the Body of Christ? Or are you more concerned about building your empire, building your retirement, building your business, or building your influence?

In today’s world where likes are currency, it’s very easy to slip in to the void of self-empowerment, self-reliance, and self-care while forgetting about the mission that we are on to further the message of hope in this broken world.

Be a Bodybuilder- discipline yourself to get in God’s word every day and to get the Plan for your week. Discipline yourself to only have God-honoring and life-giving things come into your mind and heart. Ask God how you can put away your own ambitions and pursue God‘s plan for your family, your job and your community.

Let’s build the Body of Christ together- this is going to take all of us, working together with our unique gifts and talents- not stumbling over who’s right or who worships God better- but as one mind and one heart unified under one Spirit to bring God‘s Kingdom to earth.

Who’s on the Mic of your heart?

Has faith been replaced by fear in the stage of your mind and heart?

Have you kicked out the voice of the Holy Spirit and drowned it out with the news, the latest celebrity gossip, the hottest music artist or the top horror movie?

Who is taking up room in your mind?

Everyone- from the humble homeless person, to the richest billionaire has the same amount of time in a day- 86400 seconds.

How will you spend those seconds- worrying? Living in fear? Creating memories? Serving your own empire? Building God’s Kingdom.

Only you can decide.

The secret to life is listening to the Shepherd and the voice of a stranger- you choose and make a daily conscious decision not to follow.

Today- make it the day that you put God’s voice on the Microphone of your spirit- directing and guiding your steps.

Every time I go out and I see a little cute home decor items. One sign I see everywhere says “But first, coffee”

It means that your day could not start without your daily caffeine. In this perspective, nothing creative-no action can be taken without spending the time to have your daily roast. For those caffeine junkies out there, the whole day can be thrown off if they don’t get their cup of Java!

For the Christian, before we speak, before we act out and before we start our day, we need to put on love.

Love needs to be the first thing we pull out of our spiritual wardrobe. This will help us look through the lens of love with everyone around us.

I can tell you time after time where I see a Facebook post and YouTube videos where I think, “If they would’ve put on love first, they would’ve spoken differently and acted differently in the situation”

Let’s read Matthew 22:36-40

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Love should be the filter from which all of our actions come out of. Just like people take time for their daily caffeine boost, we need to take time to get our daily love boost from our Heavenly Father.

So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy -put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper]; bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive. Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others].”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:8-10, 12-14‬ ‭

Instead of being so concerned with ourb outward appearance, we should get dressed spiritually every single day- clothing ourselves with compassion and love. I promise if you do that, you will less likely be angry, less likely to take offense- and more likely to serve and die to your self.
