You are Affirmed by God

Why would you bother with puny, mortal man or care about human beings? Yet what honor you have given to men, created only a little lower than Elohim, crowned with glory and magnificence. You have delegated to them rulership over all you have made, with everything under their authority, placing earth itself under the feet of your image-bearers. All the created order and every living thing of the earth, sky, and sea— the wildest beasts and all that move in the paths of the sea — everything is in submission to Adam’s sons. Yahweh, our Sovereign God, your glory streams from the heavens above, filling the earth with the majesty of your name! People everywhere see your splendor! — Psalms 8:4-9 TPT

In Genesis 1-3, God goes about creating a beautiful and good creation. His most celebrated creation is man. God forms humanity in a very personal way:

You are a Blessing from God

I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. — Genesis 12:1-3

Human beings of all ages are wonders of God. Just as we are amazed by and recognize the glory and blessing of a stately mountain range or the awesomeness of a crashing ocean, we should join with the psalmist in praising God for human life.

I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. – Psalm 9:1-2

Birthdays are a fantastic time to contemplate more positive things. There is so much complaining, strife, and conflict that swirls around us. It is easy to be pulled down into focusing on troubles and trials and take people and things for granted.

It is important to remember that God is the one who should be the focus of a birthday. When we celebrate someone’s birth, we can remember that our Creator’s image is stamped upon this unique person, and we can thank God for his gift of their life.

Studying God's word effectively requires a combination of discipline, focus, and a genuine desire to understand and apply its teachings. Here are some steps to help you study God's word effectively:

1. Prayer:

Begin your study with prayer, asking God to guide your understanding and reveal His truths to you.

2. Choose a specific passage or topic:

Decide on a specific portion of the Bible or a particular theme you want to study.

3. Read the passage in context:

Read the selected passage in its surrounding verses and chapters to understand the broader context.

4. Take notes: As you read, take notes on key points, questions, and insights that come to mind. Write down any cross-references or related verses that shed light on the passage.

5. Use study tools: Utilize study tools such as commentaries, concordances, and Bible dictionaries to gain deeper insights into the historical, cultural, and linguistic context of the passage.

6. Meditate and reflect: Spend time meditating on the passage, reflecting on its meaning, and considering how it applies to your life.

7. Apply the teachings: Apply the lessons learned from your study to your life. Consider how you can live out the principles and truths revealed in God's word.

8. Share with others: Discuss your findings and insights with fellow believers or join a Bible study group.

9. Be consistent: Develop a regular study routine and commit to studying God's word consistently.

10. Seek guidance: If you encounter challenging or confusing passages, seek guidance from trusted spiritual leaders or mentors.

Remember, studying God's word is not just about gaining knowledge but also about transforming your heart and mind to align with His will. Approach your study with humility, openness, and a sincere desire to know and follow God's teachings.

1. Prioritize: Set aside dedicated time each day or week specifically for connecting with God. Treat it as a non-negotiable appointment and block off that time in your schedule.

2. Simplify: Evaluate your commitments and responsibilities, and consider letting go of any that are not essential or aligning with your values. Creating space in your life by simplifying allows for more time and energy to focus on your relationship with God.

3. Practice mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, or prayer, throughout your day. These moments of intentional focus can help you stay connected to God and bring a sense of peace and presence into your busy life.

4. Set boundaries: Learn to say no to unnecessary obligations or activities that may drain your time and energy. Setting healthy boundaries will allow you to create more room for God in your life.

5. Integrate faith into daily activities: Find ways to infuse your everyday tasks and routines with spirituality. This could include listening to worship music or podcasts while commuting, praying during household chores, or reflecting on scripture during exercise. Intentionally integrating your faith into daily activities can help you stay connected with God even when life gets busy.
